There are in fact two ways to detect an intruder, before and after entry. Perimeter detectors signal an intruder's entry or attempt to enter, whilst interior detectors signal unauthorised presence within a given protected area. Both forms of protection can be used together or separately, depending on the site to be protected and, or, the overall budget allocated for the system.
Perimeter protection applies to the outline of your premises or home and will provide the first line of defence against intrusion. The alarm technician will position sensors at entry points to detect vibration, opening or breaking of glass at these points. Protection of the interior of your premises is obtained through passive infra-red motion sensors that detect the heat of the human body or alternatively motion detectors which sense the movement of an intruder. A breach of the interior or perimeter security devices will instantly trigger the alarm system.
The Heart of the Security System.
The control panel is the heart of your security system and thus it is placed away from prying eyes. Regardless of the size of your property where security has been breached the control panel will send data to the interior siren and digital communicator. The digital communicator will silently call the central monitoring centre who will in turn alert the police or guard.
