This is a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI 4x4 Mossy Oak Edition. It is a liquid cooled, 4-stroke, fuel injected monster of an ATV with a fully automatic transmission. The transmission has high and low range as well as reverse and Park (something very few ATVs have, and very handy in the back of your pickup). It has four wheel independent suspension and on-demand 4 wheel drive meaning that when you need 4x4 you only have to flip a switch. When you don't need it you can turn it off and save gas as well as do your power slides (and believe me it will do them).
The Polaris also has a speedometer with a digital display that shows hours, miles, trip-meter, 4x4 vs 4x2, and a tachometer. In addition, it has a digital fuel gauge. It can also be programmed to give you reminders when it is due for maintenance. It also has a 12 volt accessory outlet for a spotlight, cell phone charger, etc. Racks on both ends are standard, it has full floor boards instead of pegs.
As a 2008 this machine has the latest Polaris innovation, active descent control or "ADC". This system is really cool. When you are descending a steep hill it engages all 4 wheels and allows the machine to descend at a safe and controllable speed. It is the ultimate in safe, hill descent and comes standard on this machine.
In addition, this machine has a Warn/Polaris 2500# winch already installed.
Condition:
The engine is perfect and fires immediately as soon as you turn the key. The fuel injection truly makes for instant starts in any weather.
The chassis and suspension are in great shape with nothing damaged, bent or broken. It revs perfectly and pulls hard with no misses, noises, leaks or smoke.
The brakes all function perfectly and the suspension is nice and tight with no play in the wheel bearings, tie-rod ends, etc.
The wheels are in nice shape and the original tires show almost no wear.
The plastics are pretty much perfect. It has nothing cracked, broken or otherwise damaged. It does have a scratch on top of the right front fender but it does not show up in pictures because the plastic beneath is black. It is an easy 9.9 out of 10.
